KC Water is teaming up with Spire, Evergy and other organizations to provide utility assistance

On Thursday, June 12th, representatives from KC Water will join Spire, Evergy and the MId-America Assistance Coalition (MAAC) for a community event at Reconciliation Services (3101Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64109) to help customers who need assistance with their utility bills.

KC Water staff will be able to walk customer through the different assistance options, including LIHEALP, and help them apply for any needed support.

To receive help you need to bring:

  • A recent home energy bill for the account you are wanting assistance on (electric, natural gas, home heating oil or propane)
  • Copies of social security cards for all household members and their birth dates.
    • If your household currently receives food stamps, only the social security numbers and birth dates are required.
  • Copies of income documentation such as paystubs (for the previous month), award letter, pension letter and/or bank statement from the previous month.
    • If your household currently receives food stamps, income documentation is not required.
