KC Water Facility Experiences Effects of Heavy Rain

Posted on July 27, 2020

(Kansas City, Mo.) – Heavy rainfall has affected operations at the Hillside Diversion Structure near the Buckeye Pump Station at 5201 NE Birmingham Road. This has caused highly diluted wastewater to spill into local waterways. The overflow, caused by heavy rainfall, began at 7:46 this morning and ended at 3:14 p.m. sending highly diluted wastewater into Rock Creek which flows into the Missouri River.  Crews are monitoring the location.
