KC Water Alerts Drivers to East 63rd Street Detour Due to Broken Valve

(Kansas City, Mo.) – Drivers who use East 63rd Street for their daily commute should prepare for delays tonight and tomorrow morning.

Wednesday evening an underground water valve burst at East 63rd and Winchester Avenue. No one is without water, but the road sustained significant damage.

Repair work on the valve will be completed today. Restoration work on East 63rd Street is expected to be completed by early Friday afternoon.

Until then, eastbound traffic is detoured at Beacon Drive. Westbound traffic is detoured at I-435. Detour signs are posted.
