Kansas City’s Worlds of Fun Water Tank Needs Your Vote for the “Tank of the Year” Award!

(Kansas City, Mo.) – Kansas City’s iconic Worlds of Fun water tank has been nominated for the 2014 “Tank of the Year” award, sponsored by Tnemec. Customers can vote for Kansas City’s beloved Worlds of Fun water tank by visiting http://tankoftheyear.tnemec.com/. Voting ends on October 24, 2014.

Built in 1955, Kansas City’s Worlds of Fun water tank is capable of storing up to 2 million gallons of water and serves nearly 70,000 in Kansas City’s Northland. The Worlds of Fun water tank first donned its iconic colors when the theme park opened in 1973. In June 2014 Kansas City Water Services repainted and repaired the tank to help restore it vibrant colors.

Voting for the national contest opened on October 6, and features more than 230 water tanks from across the nation. Currently, Kansas City’s beloved Worlds of Fun water tank is in the top five selections for the coveted “Tank of the Year” award.
