Posted on May 18, 2020

(Kansas City, Mo.) – KC Water responded to a wastewater overflow near 5324 Cottage Ave. at 8:50 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2020.  Crews found a manhole blocked by wipes.  The blockage caused approximately 1,440 gallons of wastewater to spill into a drainage ditch leading to the Little Blue River.  Workers removed the wipes and restored the normal flow to the 8” pipe.  They will follow up with a video camera to confirm all of the debris has been removed.
