KC Water is committed to educating our citizens about our responsibility to keep all waterways clean. Civic groups, HOA’s, church groups, clubs, etc. can schedule a talk with our KC Water Education team to learn about human impacts on pollution in our watersheds. Schedule an event with our team at water.education@kcmo.org.

Schedule a session to learn more about the Horizontal Water Cycle and human impacts on water quality. KC Water Education and Outreach Coordinator will lead a discussion on overall water quality with main pollutants found in our watershed. The talk focuses on impact and action with tangible solutions every resident can achieve. The goal of these educational sessions is to inform every citizen of Best Management Practices for a clean and healthy watershed.

Kansas City is not immune to litter around city streets. In addition to being a sore sight, all litter is a huge problem for water quality. The more litter on the ground, the more litter in our waterways. Organize your cluster of friends, neighbors, or members of your group and associations to sponsor an educational litter pickup anywhere within Kansas City. Our educational team will provide the background and insight about water pollution and supplies needed to combat the problem. Groups should plan for 1 ½ – 2 hours for a successful litter pickup.
-
Let’s get outside and help protect water quality by hosting a litter pickup at a nearby stream. Groups can range in size as all hands are welcomed when organizing a stream cleanup. The KC Water Warriors Stream Team #5390, in partnership with the Missouri Stream Team Program, will provide your group with the necessary supplies and background on the importance of keeping our waterways clean. We can supply the gloves, bags, trash grabbers, and a safety talk that will make your cleanup a success.
