Out of an abundance of caution, KC Water is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory in two areas, East 51st St to E 43rd St and Sterling Ave to Woodside Ave, and then E 53rd St to E 49th St and Hockers Rd to McCoy/George Ridge Road.
Due to an ongoing repair in the area, a 12-inch water main lost positive pressure. Those affected may have experienced low to no water pressure due to the break prior to isolation.
Water service in this area will return to normal within the next few hours.
Under an Advisory, it is recommended that customers follow these guidelines:
·         Boil drinking water for three minutes before using it to drink, cook, or prepare food
·         Do not make ice during an advisory
·         Tap water is safe for bathing
·         Use boiled water for brushing teeth
Customers will receive notification that the advisory has been lifted after the tap water has been tested and water quality has been confirmed.
Customers with questions or concerns may contact KC Water by calling 816-513-1313.
