KC Water Wastewater Facilities Experience Effects of Heavy Rain

Posted on June 23, 2019

(Kansas City) This weekend’s heavy rainfall has affected operations at four wastewater pump stations.  This is causing highly diluted wastewater to spill into local waterways. The affected facilities are:

  • 87th Street Pump Station, 8810 Prospect Avenue
  • Buckeye Creek Pump Station, 5201 NE Birmingham Road
  • Birmingham Pump Station, 11011 NE Birmingham Road
  • Burlington Creek Pump Station, 4700 NW Green Hills Road

Because of the rain, the wastewater is significantly diluted.  Crews are monitoring each location.
