KC Water Household Hazardous Waste Facility Closed Due to Broken Heater

Posted on January 6, 2022

(Kansas City, MO) – KC Water’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 4707 Deramus Avenue is closed due to a broken heater.  Because the facility needs to keep the doors open to intake and process materials, the building cannot retain any heat to protect employees from the bitter cold. The replacement part is expected to arrive Friday. KC Water hopes to reopen the facility Saturday.

The Household Hazardous Waste facility accepts household chemicals and hazardous materials from residents in Kansas City and more than two dozen surrounding communities. For more information about what items are accepted, COVID protocols and hours of operation please go to https://www.kcwater.us/programs/hhw/.
