(Kansas City, Mo.) – KC Water responded to a wastewater overflow at the Burlington Creek Pump Station, located at 4700 Green Hills Road, on Thursday, August 2nd at 8:00 p.m. The overflow was the result of an instrument malfunction which caused wastewater to spill into a culvert that leads to Burlington Creek which leads to the Missouri River. The overflow ended 9:41 the same night and resulted in an overflow of 15,150 gallons.

Repairs have been made and the pump station is back in operation. Further system upgrades will be made next week to enhance reliability. Lime has been applied to the affected area.
